Social contribution

Lely and society

A family-owned company with social contribution

As a family-owned international company, we are working daily to make the lives of farmers easier by bringing innovations for dairy farming to market.

Besides making an impact on farmers, we are also keen to make an impact in other areas. As a family business, we are socially involved and contribute to society. We do this in two ways: through our partnership with GoDare and through sponsorships.

Young people and technology

GoDare

GoDare is a partnership enthusing young people for technology, innovation and science. Every year, GoDare offers over 300 workshops and welcomes over 1,000 curious young people. The workshops are supervised by Lely employees connecting tomorrow's inventors with today's creators. During workshops, we trigger curiosity about technology and prepare young people for a future in technology.

Our initiatives

Sponsoring

Vitality and health are our top priorities. One of our focus areas in our vision of the Farm of the Future is farmer prosperity. In addition - as a family business - we also take care of our own people with a focus on exercise and nutrition. Both are reflected in our sponsorship activities.

Since 2025, we have sponsored the foundation ‘Zorg om Boer en Tuinder’.  This independent foundation offers a listening ear to farmers who are worried about their business and financial situation.

Furthermore, we sponsor a number of sports clubs and sporting initiatives that suit us as an employer. Examples include the sponsorship of R.K.S.V. Excelsior ‘20, Excelsior Maassluis, sailing club Broach and rowing club Proteus Eretes. The latter two are affiliated to Delft University of Technology.

How can we help?

Farmers all over the world make choices about how they set up and run their farms. Every day, we help them make the best choices for themselves and their farms. We do this by providing advice and innovative solutions that contribute to efficient farm management as well as sustainable milk and meat production, present and future.
