The Lely Vector, our automatic feeding system, is designed to provide every animal group access to fresh and precisely mixed ration based on their needs. It consists of two parts: the mixing and feeding robot and the feed kitchen, where the feed is stored, selected, and loaded. The Vector enables you to adjust and enhance your feeding strategy, which can lead to improved milk yields and healthier cows.

A precise feeding system
The Lely Vector is designed to provide precise feeding adapted to each group of animals to help improve milk yield and meat production and contribute to healthier animals. The various features of the Vector help to make this possible while saving time.
The mixing and feeding robot scans the feed height at the feed fence. Using this data the Vector exactly knows when it’s time for a new feeding round and enables feeding on demand. This enables 24/7 fresh feed availability.
The skirt pushes the feed towards the feed fence, with the aim of having feed always within reach of the cows.
The stainless steel auger mixes each ration into a homogeneous blend, and the powerful auger motor aims to ensure that no feed remains on the auger after distribution.
From ultrasound sensors to inductive sensors, the Lely Vector offers reliable techniques that provide a flexible way of navigating the farm.
Three powerful magnets are placed under the feeding outlet. As the robot distributes the feed, it falls down alongside the magnet. Any metal parts that might be in the feed will stick to the magnet, this will decrease the risk of sharp metal parts in the cows’ stomach.
Based on the ration settings the counter knife is automatically activated. The longer the particle length of the feed stuffs the longer the counter knife stays in the bin. This stimulates cutting behavior and enables a homogenies mix.

Feed kitchen and feed grabber
The feed kitchen is the room where the feed is stored, selected, collected, and loaded into the mixing and feeding robot. Feed that has been ensiled properly stays fresh for days because it is stored in blocks. The feed kitchen promotes flexibility, as feed can be stored there for several days. The smart software in the system achieves a feed accuracy of the products loaded into the mixing and feeding robot of up to 98%. This helps ensure your cows enjoy optimal, consistent feed.
