Mechatronics Verification Engineer

Wat is jouw rol?
In recent years, Lely has introduced a number of groundbreaking robotics solutions to the market and has built a reputation as an exceptionally innovative and reliable supplier for dairy farmers. We now have a substantial and global installed base, and numerous innovations are still in the development phase.
Lely is experiencing rapid growth and has a strong ambition to accelerate further. Our customers expect new products to meet the standards of our existing ones, which have been refined over many years of service and experience. Newly introduced products need to be market-ready more quickly, and the tolerance for production issues is lower. This demands a stronger focus on our testing methods for new products before they are officially released in the field.
We have a team of specialized testers who, in close collaboration with product or design engineers, develop test protocols and testing equipment. Due to our growth, we are now looking to expand this team with a Mechatronics Test Engineer. In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary project team alongside product engineers from the electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines. You will be expected to bridge the gap between disciplines to ensure that the performance of the final product is guaranteed.
In short, this is a versatile position in which you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing requirements and translating them into test cases;
- Drawing up the test plan, designing test setups and protocols, and ensuring proper execution of the tests;
- Gathering feedback from our customers – the farmers – about their experiences with a new product;
- Performing analyses to identify root causes in case of issues in the field, in order to detect integration problems;
- Writing test reports and providing recommendations regarding the requirements and release of the product.
This position specifically relates to our automated feeding system, the Lely Vector.
